We have so much to glean from our Orthodox brothers and sisters. This is such an important insight into the beauty of exploring traditions foreign to our own and pursuing unity with others on the journey.

Curious as to whether there are any other writings which have a case to be included within the leather of our bibles?

Appreciate your thoughts!

I couldn't agree more. I've learnt so much from all the Orthodox and Catholic books on my shelves this past year. An ecumenical spirit is a great thing and can really help develop our spiritual maturity.

As for books that I think should be in our Bibles;

Judith is a great work, and is reminiscent of books like Ruth and Esther. Though there's some (apparently deliberate) textual inaccuracies, the typology is really important for understanding the protoevangelium (Gen. 3:15) and the role of Mary. Likewise, Tobit is a charming story which fills in more details about the Jews living in Exile. It's main message of 'God answers prayer' is really important for biblical theology. It also features the story of the woman with seven husbands that the Sadducees mention to Jesus in Matt 27:23-33!
